Who Can Join?

Upsilon Delta welcomes current Chico State students at every stage of their college experience.

How to Join?

Please email our Faculty Advisor Professor Irish (airish@csuchico.edu) and attach PDFs of unofficial transcripts for Chico State and any prior colleges/universities attended. Please specify in your email if you are intending to join as a full or prospective member (see below).

Full Membership

Chico State undergraduate students are eligible for full membership in Pi Sigma Alpha once they have:

  • Completed 10 credits of POLS, CJ, Legal Studies, PA, or IR courses

  • Earned a 3.0 GPA in those courses

  • Reached Junior standing (more than 60 credits completed)

  • Paid membership dues are $55 ($35 national dues + $20 Upsilon Delta chapter dues).

Full members may attend and vote at chapter meetings, run for chapter officer positions, and attend the PSA National Undergraduate Research Conference. Full members also receive a membership certificate. For students experiencing financial hardship faculty sponsorships are available. Please email our Faculty Advisor Professor Irish (airish@csuchico.edu) to inquire about a sponsorship.

Prospective Membership

Not eligible yet? Join us anyway! Upsilon Delta also accepts Prospective Members.

Chico State undergraduate students are eligible for prospective membership in Pi Sigma Alpha once they have:

  • Completed 1 or more of POLS, CJ, Legal Studies, PA, or IR class
  • 2.5 Overall GPA
  • There is no fee to become a Prospective Member

Prospective members can attend in chapter meetings and will be invited to Pi Sigma Alpha events and activities while working toward full membership.

Graduate Students

Graduate students are eligible to apply after completing 9 credits of graduate coursework.
